OMF has strived to positively impact our local Okeechobee community that we live, dance, eat, play and hold our annual festival in. In the past three years, OMF has donated $320,177 to local nonprofit partners and contributed to the social impact of the community in a variety of ways. In terms of food rescue, 13,868 pounds of food has been rescued and donated to the Treasure Coast Food Bank which equated to 11,300+ meals for members of the local community from past events, helping to eliminate food waste and combat local food insecurity. Additionally, 9,500 pounds of reusable goods have been rescued from OMF and donated to the Warrior Center which helps homeless veterans in Okeechobee county. Donated goods included tents, cooking equipment, coolers and more. Furthermore, 10,221 positive social actions have been taken since 2016 in our nonprofit zone called Participation Row that has been spearheaded by our fantastic partners at HeadCount. HeadCount also registered 2,640 attendees at our festivals to vote via their voter signup initiative. In order to start taking steps towards avoiding single use plastic waste, starting in 2018, OMF eliminated single use plastic straws which saved over 70,000 plastic straws from ending up in landfills. OMF remains committed to partnering with our local community of Okeechobee, Florida.
